Some days amidst the calendars and the schedules something pulls me away and makes me pause the chaos. I had one of those moments this morning as I was jumping in the car worrying I’d be late for a meeting at work.
Look at this! Isn’t it stunning? Look at the tiny drops of water sparkling on the petals and the miniature yellow corn stalks marching around the middle.
Oh, and at this angle! Look at all the different reds and oranges in the petals. I love this flower. The best part is that it’s a mistake flower. A neighbor gave it to me and it was supposed to be a spring bloomer that attracted hummingbirds. Instead it’s an orange daisy-like wonder that attacts momma Aftheads in the early fall.
What unexpectedly stopped you in your tracks today?
I was stopped in my tracks on Sunday while walking down the block to return something to my neighbor. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw another neighbor’s son walk out his front door. I was captivated by his outfit and had to stop. He is two or three (I can’t remember) and was sporting a pink tutu, Nirvana t-shirt and shark tooth’s necklace. I just had to stop and compliment him on his awesome fashion sense!

I love that outfit, and that moment! Although, I’m dying to know what shoes he was wearing. So many options would complement that ensemble.

I’m stopped in my tracks regularly. Most often it is something up high in the sky…the moon, a pink cloud, rainbows, or the way the sun sometimes fights to shine through a dark thundercloud. Most recently it was the lightning streaking across the sky on my way home from work.

I love weather and sky surprises. On our drive home from our Labor Day escapades we saw a hot air balloon! Not the normal sky viewing, but that’s what makes it cool, right?

I just posted a bunch of plants last night. For me it was the lilly pads that looked like giant trays. https://carrotsinmycarryon.com/2016/09/17/searching-for-butterflies/ (too many words; just scroll down to the pictures)

Really?!? You introduced THAT post as “posted a bunch of plants?” I mean you did, but there was some meaty stuff there. Off to actually comment on your post. (The flowers were pretty though…)

Well, for the TL;DR crowd…”scroll down for plants” is close enough LOL
